My Electric Scooter's Flat: Tube Swap Time & Where to Shop

So my trusty electric/e-/moto- scooter decided to throw a wobbler/hitch/bender in the middle of my read more commute/a fun ride/a grocery run. It seems like I got a flat tire/tube/wheel. No bueno! Luckily, swapping out the inner tube isn't too bad. First, you'll need to grab some tools: a wrench/socket set/multi-tool, a pump/air compressor/foot pump and of course, a fresh inner tube. Where should you shop for these goodies? I usually go to my local bike shop/a general hardware store/Amazon online but there are plenty of other options out there. Just make sure to get the right size for your scooter!

  • Next, use a flat-head screwdriver to carefully pry off the tire bead from the rim. Be gentle so you don't damage the rim or the tire.
  • After that the tire is removed, take out the old inner tube and inspect it for any holes} .
  • To install inner tube, make sure the valve stem is aligned with the valve hole on the rim. Then, carefully push the inner tube into the tire and use your hands to smooth it out.
